Drylining by Loader Luxe Plastering

Drylining is fast, clean and dry, so other trades can follow on sooner. It is ideal for new stud partitions, ceilings, extensions, basement and garage conversions and commercial fit outs.

We use the right board for each room: standard board for most walls, moisture resistant board in bathrooms and kitchens, acoustic board between bedrooms and flats, and fire rated board where building regulations require it. Insulated plasterboard can also improve a cold solid wall.

Boards are fixed with adhesive dabs or screwed to a frame. Joints are taped and the whole surface is given a full skim, so the finish matches a traditionally plastered wall.

Questions

Drylining questions

Straight answers from a master plasterer. Anything else, call 07515 569399.

Is drylining better than wet plastering?

Neither is better in every case. Drylining is quicker and dries straight away, while wet plaster is harder wearing and suits solid walls. We recommend what suits your project.

Can drylining help with a cold wall?

Yes. Insulated plasterboard adds a layer of insulation to solid external walls and can make a noticeable difference to a cold room.

Do you skim over new plasterboard?

Yes. We tape the joints and apply a full skim so the finish matches a traditionally plastered wall.
